After a dreaded hell week and a failed Lit 13 Wazzup wazzup presentation, I decided to unwind by going to the That CERSA Show. I had no idea that it would be one of the best concerts I have attended aside from the local UP gigs. I went with Jamz and Migs but later on I joined my Chem chums JM, Renren, Barbie, Sare and of course Koi.
As expected, never heard bands started the show. At that point I was joking Koi for a refund. For every noise playing band, I asked for 10 Php. Well, patience is a virtue. It was very obvious that most watching were just enduring the noise because we were all waiting for RIVERMAYA, SPONGECOLA and MYMP to perform. And when the long wait was over, everybody reached their activation energy level. Ateneans started crowding near the stage and boy, we were all wild.
Rico Blanco and his band sang for 30 minutes. It was undeniably the best part. He started singing “Elesi” and the house of rock was shaking. Singing the lyrics and shouting it, I kept pointing my forefinger to Master Rico’s face. To my surprise, he came near our place and started pointing at me too. Nth level of craziness flowed through my system. I was immediately converted from an Eheads fanatic to a Rivermaya die-hard supporter! Such twist in my life is reasonable since Rico and his band are Ateneans, so support and love your own. Anyway, Ex-Master Ely and his friends will still have a special place in my heart as it pumps alternative music. The UP band was the best but to date, Atenean RIVERMAYA is the best of the best.
To top it all more, Mr. Red Horse was present in the concert for a very affordable price of 18 Php. Hehe, though many opted patronizing Mr. SMB Light and MR. Chill, Mr. Red Horse still suites my taste buds the best. Chemical trivia: Mr. Red Horse is a hybrid of Mr. Beer and Mrs. Gin. Why not? No wonder it is extra strong. What more was absent in that freaking concert? Whoah!
Rocker by heart, I will continue what newly proclaimed Master Rico has started. I will be the next ROCK STAR! Oh boy. Oh well. Crap! What a balanced life!
