assessing collegiate subjects.

everyone's doing it so i might as well do it...so here goes my own take on my subjects for this term [in chronological order, according to my schedule]:

1. peteams - pe subjects are assigned here, unlike in the state u, unfortunately. if you're wondering, my teacher is okay so far. i was supposed to have softball but thankfully, we switched to volleyball. not that i am good at it. by some stroke of fate, i am actually enjoying volleyball. and get this- i aced my first practical tests. unbelievable! am i lucky or what?

2. poligov [politics and governance] - i like this subject. it's perhaps the second most intellectually stimulating class i've been [second to mam cervantes' phil.history back in masci]. i especially like how we put lessons in the context of history and society[that is, when we brainstorm examples]. curiously, our prof looks a lot like cynthia luster.

3. philhis [philippine history] - i'm fortunate to have a seasoned historian teaching me philhis this term. our prof is quite a character- with lots of funny mannerisms [including sniffing. you get the picture] and little-known info up his sleeve. never mind if he gives long articles to read and equally lengthy essay quizzes- it's well worth the effort. agoncillo [the famous historian/author] was a teacher of his, by the way. i've learned a lot this early.

4. crithin [critical thinking/logic] - astig. that's a word to describe our prof in this subject. he's a cool, easygoing intellectual guy who's in the habit of dishing life insights like a good old pal. when he's not in advice mode, he seems to read his lines straight from a philosophy book. that's how much he knows this field, like he said, "the back of his hand." as for the subject, it can go extremes- from really boring to really interesting.

5. genpsyc [general psychology] - another interesting subject: the marriage of science and philosophy. i'm finding psych a fascinating field of study, with all its theories and stuff. my prof here is okay, nothing fancy.

6. comp1ae [computer for applied economics] - basically a rundown of windows and ms office. the computer lab we use for this subject is really, really cold.

7. comath1 [commerce math 1] - high school algebra crammed in twelve-thirteen weeks. astoundingly, i'm enjoying comath1. amazing... my teacher here, i swear, looks like a twin of bro. eddie villanueva.

8. orient1 - a continuation of the freshman orientation. we discuss here the boring stuff about being in college [policies, rules, counseling...etc].

9. nstp01 [c1] - community service. i chickened out of rotc like almost everyone else [i think]. stay tuned for future 'adventures'.

10. saliksik - not really a subject, but we're required to attend this recollection. it'll be this august.

so there! hope everyone's enjoying themselves in college! see you all soon!
